All Hallows’ Eve and Other Terrors
Alas! Another Halloween aboard the Sirius.
This year, I’ve taken the necessary precautions to prevent another fit of apoplexy from sheer fright—I have covered the mirror in my quarters with a towel, lest I behold the visage of my purported bride-to-be in it. Last year that infernal glass revealed none other than Luke sporting a mophead. By thunder, that nearly did me in.
The hollowed-out turnips are ready, and they cast a suitably spectral glow over the deck. Perfect for a jolly nightlong carouse. May the souls of the dead rest in peace, whatever their final berth, and may ours wash away their cares with drink and banter—for that is the pirate way.
Happy All Hallows’ Eve.
